Trekking from Zone to Monte Guglielmo
The trail/Der Weg
The trail starts from the town of Zone, where you park the car before starting the route. The first part corresponds to an unpaved road and you will find the first indications for the ascent to the Monte Guglielmo. The route continues in the Bosco degli Gnomi, where you can admire wooden sculptures positioned along the itinerary. You will then find yourself at a crossroads (227-227A), and you can choose one of the two alternatives (227A passes towards the woods and allows you to save some time, even though it is more steep). You will reach the Casentiga hut ( about 1400 m), where there is a fountain to stock up on water. From this point the route continues on a narrow but not difficult path overstepping a lawn, another water point and the Palmarusso di Sotto hut. Continue up to Pozza del Culmet and then to the Almici Refuge. The last stretch of the path goes up to the summit of Monte Guglielmo, wherethe monument of the Redeemer is located.
DE – Der Weg beginnt im Zentrum von Zone. Folgen Sie den ersten Hinweisen zum Monte Guglielmo und erreicht man den Bosco degli Gnomi, wo man entlang des Weges einige Holzskulpturen bewundern kann. Wenn Sie den Weg fortsetzen, gelangen Sie an eine Kreuzung, an der Sie zwischen zwei Routen wählen können: Nr. 227 oder 227A, steiler im Wald, aber dadurch zeitsparender. Sobald Sie die Malga Casentina erreicht haben, führt die Route auf einem schmaleren, aber nicht schwierigen Weg weiter bis zu einer Wiese in der Nähe der Hütte Palmarusso di Sotto. Folgen Sie den Schildern und gehen Sie weiter, bis Sie eine Pfütze und dann die Almici-Hütte erreichen. Nehmen Sie das letzte Stück des Weges, um den Gipfel des Monte Guglielmo zu erreichen, der vom Redentore-Denkmal dominiert wird und von dem aus Sie eine atemberaubende Landschaft bewundern können.
How to arrive and where to park/Anreise und Parkplatz
Follow the signs for Lake Iseo and take the SP 510 with the Zone exit. Then follow the signs to the centre of Zone.
Possibility to leave the car in a big parking space near Zone’s cemetery.
DE – Folgen Sie der Beschilderung zum Iseosee und nehmen Sie die SP 510 – Ausfahrt Zone. Fahren Sie geradeaus bis zum Zentrum von Zone.

Hiking boots are recommended. Due to the presence of snow and ice during the winter, crampons, snowshoes and suitable equipment are recommended.
DE – Wanderschuhe werden empfohlen. Im Winter sind Steigeisen, Schneeschuhe und eine entsprechende Ausrüstung empfehlenswert.
