What do you see when you look at a beehive? From 27 June to 19 July, the Mirad’Or Museum presents “Anima mea,” a retrospective exhibition dedicated to the German painter Alan Bee, curated by Paolo Campiglio with the coordination and supervision of Flaminio Gualdoni and Marco Lagorio. Organized with the Alan Bee Association and the ABC-ARTE Genova-Milano gallery, and under the patronage of the Municipality of Pisogne.
The exhibition retraces the artist’s work from 1975 to 2002 and explores themes dear to the artist: gender equality, the protection of nature, solidarity, sustainability, and the equitable distribution of resources, which he anticipated by decades. On canvases with intense colors and textured surfaces, the beehive—and its fundamental module, the hexagon—becomes a metaphor for a society founded on cooperation, freedom, and collective dignity. An ethical and spiritual manifesto that today feels more urgent than ever.
The exhibition will return from 5 to 20 September, enriched by workshops in schools.
