Show “Erano tutti miei figli”
From Saturday 13 February 2027 to Sunday 14 February 2027
As part of the Crystal’s 24th theater season (2026-2027), the show “Erano tutti miei figli” (They Were All My Sons) by Arthur Miller, directed by Elio De Capitani, will be performed in Lovere on Saturday the 13th (8:45 pm) and Sunday, February 14th, 2027 (4:00 pm). The play, starring Elio De Capitani, Cristina Crippa, Angelo Di Genio, and Caterina Erba, will be performed.
Arthur Miller’s first major success, written in 1947 and set in post-war America, features the Keller family, who live in a wealthy middle-class home. Joe and his wife, Kate, have two sons who have gone to war. Larry, the eldest, has been missing for three years, and only his mother refuses to accept the evidence of his death. The second-born, Chris, has returned home, scarred by terrible experiences but determined to look to the future, to a possible happy life with Ann, his brother’s fiancée. Life seems to resume its course, leaving the nightmares of the past behind: Joe has been acquitted of selling faulty spare parts to the US Air Force, causing the deaths of 21 pilots, and without much moral hesitation, he has made money from the war. But lies inexorably traverse the generations and resurface to take their toll. A work in which the emotional, at times violent, clash between parents and children, and the emotional and moral dilemma that tears them apart, brings to the fore the social and moral responsibility of the individual in the face of history and anticipates the youthful revolt of the next generation and its refusal to perpetuate the system.
