Show “Dangerous Contractions”
From Saturday 3 April 2027 to Sunday 4 April 2027
As part of the Crystal’s 24th 2026-2027 theater season, the show “Dangerous Contractions” will be performed in Lovere on Saturday, April 3rd (8:45 PM) and Sunday, April 4th, 2027 (4:00 PM), starring Rocío Muñoz Morales, Giorgio Lupano, and Gabriele Pignotta, written and directed by Gabriele Pignotta.
The labor room of the San Callisto Hospital in Rome. A woman is about to give birth. The situation is tense: an obstetrician tries to reassure her, but above all, he tries to reassure her companion. Her husband? No. Her brother? Not even. He’s a special friend, a successful, nervous, and self-centered manager, from whom the woman has hidden her pregnancy so she can “manage it independently.” Massimo Martina and Martina Massimo have been close for years. Their meeting was fortuitous, dictated by the strange coincidence of their first names with each other’s last names, but from that moment on, something blossomed between them. But it is only at the most unexpected moment, her birth, that their bond is revealed for what it is: an unconfessed love, held back by the fear of change. With obstetrician Francesco, an ironic and disillusioned figure, the trio faces a night that will change their lives. A wry and moving performance that laughs at contemporary neuroses but delves deeply. It crosses the threshold into an exploration of the soul, the impulses, fears, hopes, and desires of a generation yearning to find balance in the chaos of a life that has lost certain points of reference.
