Exhibition “Thanatomorphose” by Fabio Lombardi
From Saturday 11 March 2023 to Sunday 16 April 2023
From Saturday, March 11th to Sunday, April 16th at the Fondazione l’Arsenale in Iseo, the “Thanatomorphose” exhibition by Fabio Lombardi, curated by Alice Vangelisti, will be held.
The spectacle of thanatomorphosis, i.e. the decomposition of the flesh, is a cause of disgust and fear, as it is understood as the last and repugnant moment of destruction, the final and irreversible annihilation of the physical ego. Fabio Lombardi’s work therefore stands in that thin line between life and death, showing the inexorable process of change that lies in the middle, in constant balance between the two different stages of human existence. Emblem of this change is the body, which bears on it the traces of its inevitable decadence, which however at the same time shows a new form of beauty – often unspoken and hidden – which arises from darkness and decay to give life to precious compositions, suspended between the folds of human fragility.
Opening hours: Thursday-Friday from 3 pm to 6 pm; Saturday, Sunday and holidays from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm and from 3 pm to 6 pm.
