Saturday, June 24, at 7 pm, at the Piazza Umberto I of Sarnico, Stefano Serpellini tells his book “The year of the Cup”, Atalanta ’63.
On 2 June 1963, Atalanta won what, until today, is the only trophy in its history: the Coppa Italia. That exceptional sporting adventure, which began in September 1962, and ended with the 3-1, in San Siro, against Turin, was never celebrated, because the following day, on June 3, died, John XXIII, the Pope from Bergamo, and every celebration was canceled by mourning.
