The portrait, that is, the desire, the ambition, the need to pass on one’s image to posterity as evidence of one’s passage… Modern times constantly and unconsciously bring us into contact with the portrait, just think of the use of multimedia: newspapers, posters, television, social networks.

The invention of photography towards the mid-1800s revolutionized the way of conceiving the portrait…

But what were the effects on the community when faced with its own image captured by the canvas or the photographic camera…

Certainly of great inspiration for some great authors of world literature.
