As part of the 22nd 2024-2025 Crystal theater season, on Saturday 8 (8:45 p.m.) and Sunday 9 February 2025 (4:00 p.m.), the show “La madre” with Lunetta Savino by Florian Zeller directed by Marcello Cotugno will be performed in Lovere.

Anna is a mother obsessed with love for her son who, now twenty-five, has left the family home to live with his partner. Time has passed very quickly and she, after having dedicated her life to raising him, feels alone and abandoned by this boy to whom she is morbidly attached, also due to the end of the marital relationship characterized by a repetitiveness of gestures and questions that are always the same, to which both spouses give circumstantial answers, which are already known. Her world is now a place in which she no longer recognizes herself, feeling isolated by a family ménage that has expelled her. But isn’t the responsibility perhaps in having given up on life? Isn’t giving up dreams, hopes and desires to dedicate oneself to the only son on whom to pour out frustrations, regrets and ideals of love a path that leads to desperation? The sense of guilt is no longer enough to keep children close. In the pain of letting them go there is the acceptance of life in its becoming, of letting go of a part of oneself to be reborn in detachment.
