23° Memorial Mario Stoppani – Il cielo si racconta
From Sunday 3 August 2025 to Saturday 4 October 2025

Everything is ready for the 23rd Mario Stoppani Memorial, the event celebrating the memory of the great aviator from Lovere. This year, too, the event offers a rich program, including seaplane flights, conferences, screenings, family workshops, and numerous cultural activities. This widespread initiative will span several municipalities in the Sebino area –Lovere, Costa Volpino, Pisogne, Marone, Iseo, and Sarnico – united in the name of aeronautical culture and the story of flight as a human and historical experience.
The programme features numerous events open to all:
– Sunday 3 August from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM | Costa Volpino – Baia delle Rose: “Ali di carta, sogni di vento”, a creative kite-making workshop for children and families;
– Friday 29 August at 8:45 PM | Iseo – Oldofredi Castle: “Tra poesia e volo: Caproni e Miyazaki”, screening of the film “The Wind Rises” with an introduction by Pierfrancesco Meazzini, Caproni’s grandson;
– Friday 12 September at 8:45 PM | Sarnico – Municipal Auditorium:”Il volo: esperienze, pionieri e record man” – an evening dedicated to aviation pioneers with documentaries, stories, and testimonials from the Italian Air Force Association;
– Thursday 18 September at 8:45 PM | Pisogne – De Lisi Cultural Hall: “Fotografia aerea e racconti di volo”, with spotters Marco Morbioli, Giorgio Varisco, and Alfredo Stella;
– Saturday 4 October at 3:30 PM | Lovere – Sala Affreschi dell’Accademia Tadini: aeronautical conference. The event will feature journalist Francesco Dionigi, with a speech dedicated to Rodolfo Stoppani, and Lt. Col. Paolo De Vita, Director of the Italian Air Force Museum (MUSAM) in Vigna di Valle, who will recount the museum’s history and activities. The official awards ceremony for the literary competition will also be held on this occasion, a symbolic moment that closes the Memorial by highlighting the enthusiasm and talent of young people.
The spectacular seaplane flights, taking off and landing at the Marone hydrosurface, will also return on 9, 10, 23, 24 August and 13, 14, 27, 28 September, offering unique views and a thrilling experience between sky and water.
