On Saturday 8 November at 3:30 PM, the “Piero Guizzetti” Civic Library at Via San Carlo 5 in Sovere will host a presentation of the book “E dell’oscura morte al passo andare” edited by Monica Ibsen and Claudia Mangani.

The book will be presented by Dr. Marco Baioni, director of the Valle Sabbia Archaeological Museum.

Afterwards, those interested can take a guided tour of Palazzo Silvestri.

This second Notebook collects and develops the insights that emerged from the study day held in Lovere, at the Accademia Tadini, on 6 April 2024: a multidisciplinary reflection on the theme of death and burial, prompted by the significant evidence of funerary archaeology in the area (including the Lovere necropolis and the burials discovered in Casazza and Parre), which are the focus of recent research and publications. The essays and articles presented here aim to guide the reader in discovering how communities, over time, have transformed the territory into a cultural landscape, including through the funerary practices and rituals that connected the world of the living to that of the dead.
