Italian Skateboard Downhill Championship Stage + International Freeride “Downhill Arena Race”

This year too, the Municipality of Rogno will host, from Friday 19th to Sunday 21st July, 3 days of longboarding, street luge and in-line on the curves of the most fun spot on the Italian circuit.
Over 120 riders from all over the world meet to face speed tests, battery races and freerides in the spectacular panorama of Valcamonica. This edition sees an increase in foreign attendance with 87% of participants coming from Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Austria, New Zealand, the Czech Republic, the United States, Panama, Ecuador and other nations.
The Downhill Arena is also the only stage of the Italian Downhill Skateboard Championship for the third year, thanks to the support of the Italian Roller Sports Federation and the support of the municipal administration of Rogno. But the downhill arena is just the beginning, in fact, this year the World Skate Games 2024, the downhill skateboarding world championships will be held in Tortoreto in Abruzzo, the event is therefore an opportunity to warm up the wheels and increase the adrenaline, in view of the world championship.
The event will begin on Friday 19 July with free practice, where riders will be able to try the asphalt of the 1.6 km route along Via Del Corno which starts from the Castelfranco hamlet. On Saturday it will be the turn of the time trials, where the battle will be to win the best position for the starting grid and on Sunday the athletes will start in groups of 4 for the race with the aim of reaching the final through overtaking and counter-overtaking. At stake is the title of Italian Longboard Downhill champion and for foreigners the title of Gladiator of the Arena. Skateboard and not only, the race and freeride will also see the disciplines of street luge and Inline (Skates) battle in the OPEN, WOMEN, MASTER+35, JUNIOR categories.
After the race the athletes will move to the Rogno lake to relax in the water and enjoy live concerts and DJ sets organized at Rogno Beach. The activities at the pond and the race are open to the public.
The Downhill Arena Race is an event organized by the Sbanda Brianza sports association, supported by FISR (Italian Roller Sports Federation) and included in the CONI list of sporting events of national interest.
The municipality of Rogno, which provided patronage and support for the event, with a cutting-edge vision, took the opportunity to enhance and make the area known through a new sporting practice in an event that will gather numerous participants from also by foreign riders who read Italy with a new sporting and cultural perspective.

6.00pm – 12.00am: diving & music at the lake
Sunday 21 July
2.00pm – 6.00pm: race + freeride;
6.00pm – 8.00pm: awards ceremony & happy hour at the start.
For the occasion, the Via del Corno road will be subject to traffic restrictions on the days of the event from 2.00 pm to 6.00 pm, with traffic alternating approximately every 20 minutes to allow the athletes to descend and ascend safely. The staff will give all the information on site.
