Festa di Mura – 30th Edition
From Friday 16 September 2022 to Sunday 18 September 2022 - h. 10:00
From Friday 17th September to Sunday 18th September, ‘Festa di Mura’ will be held at the Mura district in Palazzolo sull’Oglio.
The festival, which started in 1936, usually takes place in the third week of September over three days. It starts on Friday evening with the ‘parade of the herald’ and ends on Sunday evening with a huge fireworks display.
In the oldest Mura district, the medieval walls and town’s gates that encircled are reconstructed, inns are reopened, music and dances from the historical period are re-enacted and in the alleyways or doorways of the old houses craftsmen reenact old trades. During these days, the ‘palanca’ circulates: a penny that is minted every year and allows the purchase of drinks and food offered in the inns.
Numerous attractions are on offer: from the sumptuous parades with medieval costumed ladies and knights, to the re-enactment of an ancient historical event, from medieval music concerts with dances and games to the flag-wavers’ exhibition. The festival is open to families. Games, children’s make-up and dedicated entertainment are planned for the little ones.
