On this day, it is our duty to remember the combatants and fallen of the First World War, with the hope that their sacrifice will strengthen our sense of belonging to the national community, based on the principles of peace and freedom, today enshrined in the Constitution and guaranteed by our Armed Forces.

Ceremony Program

9:15 AM | Piazza Tredici Martiri:

• wreath-laying at the Monument to Freedom and remembrance of the Lovere fallen in the wars of the Risorgimento; Followed by a procession to the Park of Remembrance and Peace;

9:40 AM | Park of Remembrance and Peace:

• laurel wreath laying to the tune of “Silence”;

9:50 AM | Sacrario dei Caduti:

• flag-raising ceremony, followed by the national anthem;
• laurel wreath laying to the tune of “Leggenda del Piave”;
• student readings;
• memorial speech by the Mayor;
• blessing;

6:00 PM | Church of San Giorgio:

• Holy Mass for the remembrance of the fallen in all wars and for peace.

The ceremony will be accompanied by the Lovere Band and a representative of the music students of the “Decio Celeri” Comprehensive School. It will take place rain or shine.

The public is invited to pay homage to the Lovere Fallen of the Great War by attending the ceremony.
