“Lu Santo Jullàre Françesco” – Theatre Show
Saturday 25 July 2026 - h. 20:45
On Saturday, July 25th, starting at 8:45 PM, the stunning setting of the Church of Santa Maria della Neve in Pisogne will host a major cultural event: the theatrical play “Lu Santo Jullàre Françesco”, performed by Mario Pirovano.
This is a pure narrative monologue that evokes the deeply human and revolutionary figure of Saint Francis of Assisi. The event marks a special occasion to celebrate two major anniversaries in 2026: the 800th anniversary of the Saint’s death and the centenary of the birth of Nobel Laureate Dario Fo, who co-wrote the piece with Franca Rame. Pirovano, a former student and official successor to the Fo-Rame theatrical tradition, will bring to life a unique dialogue between the expressive power of theatre and the realism of Romanino’s extraordinary Renaissance frescoes decorating the church. The performance will fully respect the sacred venue thanks to a custom, non-invasive technical setup.
Admission is free, but seating is limited. Reservations are required: click HERE to reserve your tickets.
Event sponsored by the Municipality of Pisogne.
