Special philatelic postmark in Lovere
Saturday 20 April 2024
On Saturday 20 April 2024 Poste Italiane will participate in the exhibition “Lovere romana. Dal tesoro alla necropoli” with a temporary service where it will be possible to request the cancellation with the dedicated stamp. The station will be active from 9.30 to 13.30 at the Infopoint Alto Lago d’Iseo located in Piazza Tredici Martiri 37. For this special occasion, the exhibition will also be open on Saturday from 9.00 to 12.00.
The cancellation, in oval format, reproduces the logo of “I Borghi più belli d’Italia” flanked by the coat of arms of the Municipality of Lovere and is completed by the words “Mostra “Lovere romana, dal tesoro alla necropoli” – 20.4.2024 – 24065 Lovere (Bg)”.
There will also be available, in a limited edition, a special philatelic postcard created by Poste Italiane, which reproduces a panoramic photo of the city of Lovere and Upper Lake Iseo, in particular the parish sports field is portrayed, the site under which some of the Roman finds brought to light and the subject of the exhibition have been found.
Also on Saturday at 10.30 am, a short institutional stamping ceremony will be held which will see the participation of Sara Raponi, councilor for trade, tourism and events of the municipality of Lovere and for Poste Italiane di Fiora Acquaviva, director of the Bergamo 2 branch.
At the Poste Italiane stand you will be able to purchase the most recent issues of security cards, together with the traditional Poste Italiane products: folders, postcards, cards, books and binders for collectors.
The figurative stamp, after use on 20 April, will be available at the philatelic counter in Lovere, Via Roma 7 starting from Monday 22 April and for the sixty days following the event. It will then be deposited at the Historical Museum of Communication in Rome to become part of the postal history collection.
