Show “174.488. Un Uomo, Alberto”

On the occasion of Remembrance Day, Friday 9 February 2024 at 8.45 pm, the show “174.488. Un Uomo, Alberto”, by and with Luciano Bertoli, will be staged in the Council Room of the Municipality of Solto Collina.

Alberto Dalla Volta is the man who saved Primo Levi’s life, that Alberto who was held in the hell of the concentration camp
with the Piedmontese writer a strong friendship and
intense. A friendship that lives in the pages together
hard and passionate of the one who was one
extraordinary witness of one of the most harrowing horrors
of the twentieth century.
Many of us, who have approached Levi’s pages,
they clearly remember the figure of Primo’s friend,
but not everyone knows that this friend, Alberto Dalla
Once upon a time, he was from Brescia.
In all of his writings Levi mentions his friend only by name or,
at most, with the initial of the surname.
This was at the express request of the family members who, one
once the war ended and he met Primo Levi, not
did they ever accept the fact that from that same hell
who had returned Primo, but Alberto had not
he would never return.
“Alberto is my best friend –
Levi writes in “Se questo è un uomo”
(…) Alberto entered the Lager with his head held high, and
he lives in the Lager unharmed and uncorrupted.”
Luciano Bertoli protagonist and author of the text
presents with this show a collage of
pages relating to Alberto Dalla Volta from various
books written by Primo Levi.
