As part of Crystal’s 2023-2024 theater season, the show “Il Figlio” with Cesare Bocci, Galatea Ranzi and Giulio Pranno by Florian Zeller will be staged in Lovere on Saturday 17th (8.45pm) and Sunday 18th February 2024 (4pm) directed by Piero Macarinelli

Zeller’s text is part of a trilogy composed of The Father, The Mother and The Son: texts not connected to each other except by the number of characters (6) and the human and social implications. The plot is initially simple: Nicola attends the last year of high school and lives at his mother Anna’s house. His father Piero has just had another child with his new partner Sofia. Anna informs her father that Nicola has not attended high school for three months and, according to her, he has adolescent depression. Piero talks about it with Nicola who expresses the desire to move in with him. At that point his father also decides to make him change school and works as hard as he can to give him back the zest for life… A fabric of emotions, the desire to reveal what, too often, is hidden. A text capable of conquering, thanks not only to the beauty of the language but to the capacity for introspection, to the references between one character and another, to the manifestation of their weaknesses and inability to understand themselves and others. Life in all its facets to plant a mirror in the hearts of all parents of a teenager. With a final twist that will thrill.
