As part of the 22nd 2024-2025 theater season of Crystal, on Saturday 21 (8:45 pm) and Sunday 22 December 2024 (4:00 pm) the show “La Vittoria è la balia dei vinti” will be performed in Lovere with Cristiana Capotondi by Marco Bonini and directed by Marco Bonini.

A six-year-old girl asks her mother to tell her about when she was little. She remembers the adventure of her great-grandmother Vittoria on September 25, 1943, the day of the bombing of Florence. Between fairytale evocation and historical reconstruction, she thus relives the night in which a flock of English planes, aiming at the important railway junction of Campo di Marte, misses the target causing the death of hundreds of civilians and causing heavy devastation. Grandma Vittoria, hidden in the improvised shelter in the cellars of Palazzo Pitti where she lives as the wife of the superintendent of cultural heritage, finds herself facing both the nightmare of war and the vertigo of social taboo: breastfeeding the twins of her wet nurse who has lost her milk due to the shock. War is the same for everyone and under the bombs there are no longer courts and lordships, high and low floors, stairs to go up or down. Everyone is on the same floor, all hidden in the cellar. Where a mother is worth a mother, a child is worth a child, a wet nurse is worth a breast full of milk. Where the lady can serve the servant. Where Vittoria is the wet nurse of the vanquished.
