Show “Una ballata per Chiara”
Saturday 27 July 2024 - h. 21:15
Lovere, one of “I Borghi più belli d’Italia”, overlooking the Bergamo shore of Lake Iseo, celebrates 70 years of Italian television by dedicating the 15th edition of the project Lovere, il Borgo della luce to contemporary television with some of the faces best known on the television scene and a particular tribute to Raffaella Carrà and Mike Bongiorno. Every evening, until next September 8th, it will be possible to admire the evocative artistic-scenographical lighting, designed by the artist Marco Lodola, on over 10,000 m2 of buildings overlooking the marvelous amphitheater of Piazza Tredici Martiri, the Tadini Academy, Piazza Garibaldi and Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II in the ancient village.
In continuity with the theme of the 2024 summer edition of the “Borgo della luce”, the organization of “deSidera Bergamo Festival”, in collaboration with the Municipality of Lovere, proposes on Saturday 27 July at 21:15 a themed show entitled “Una ballata per Chiara” in the fifteenth-century Basilica of Santa Maria in Valvendra making use of the interpretation of Ippolita Baldini, one of the most extraordinary artists on the Italian scene. A fun, ironic and surprising show, capable of making us reflect, through the story of Santa Chiara, on the curious fact that led her to become the Patron Saint of Television, as an expedient to celebrate the contemporary mysticism that TV and the new means of communication arouse through “new preachers”, successful programs and timeless icons.
THE SHOW
“Una Ballata per Chiara” aims to narrate the life of Clare of Assisi in a playful way, exploiting the lightness and contagious physicality that characterize Ippolita Baldini’s comic-theatrical style.
A work that aims to offer the public a portrait of Chiara that is as faithful as possible and respectful of the facts, as well as of the spiritual choices that guided Chiara in her human and spiritual growth, becoming one of the most relevant and revolutionary female figures in history.
By focusing on some episodes and characters that are best suited to representing their exploits, and at the same time allowing us a stage interpretation that leverages the amused and complicit participation of the audience, we draw on various aspects of the Commedia dell’Arte in which legend and truth historical are confused.
The choice of Ippolita Baldini as interpreter of Chiara’s story is due to her being a television character known to the general public. At the same time, Santa Chiara is the patron saint of telecommunications. A small connection that refers to a simple and equally playful bond that unites the two women.
Free admission while places last (limited to 200 people), with no reservation.
