On Thursday 24th August, from 4.00 to 6.00 p.m., the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Corno and the Rifugio in Provaglio d’Iseo can be freely visited, opened for the occasion by the CAI group subsection of Provaglio d’Iseo.

Built presumably in the 16th century, according to legend, after the apparition of the Madonna to a soldier tired of fighting, the sanctuary is located at the summit of the rocky southern part of Monte Cognolo and can be reached on foot, with a beautiful walk up the hill, either from Iseo or Provaglio.

The event is part of ‘Franciacorta Aperta’ (Open Franciacorta), an important action spread throughout the Franciacorta region.

Each municipality has a week to organise various initiatives linked to the promotion of the area, in collaboration with the main players in their community.
