The fifth event in the “Le 2 Rive del Jazz” festival will take place on Wednesday 12 August at 9:00 PM in the Pisogne Municipal Park with Jean Baptiste Bolazzi’s Looking Up Quartet performing their “Petrucciani’s Music” project. The quartet, composed of Jean Baptiste Bolazzi (piano), Guido Bombardieri (sax and clarinet), Sandro Massazza (contrabass), and Stefano Bertoli (drums), pays homage to the music of Michel Petrucciani, which is undoubtedly rooted in traditional jazz songs yet expresses itself through entirely original expressive codes. The band’s name itself derives from one of Petrucciani’s most famous compositions, which forms an integral part of the quartet’s repertoire. Despite its original arrangements, the quartet maintains the essence of his music.
