Guided visit to the Parco dei laghi fossili of Sovere

On Sunday 1st June at 10:00 am a guided tour lasting 2 hours will take place at the Fossil Lakes Park in Sovere.
Located in the Sellere-Pianico area in Val Borlezza, literally inside an 800,000-year-old lake, the Fossil Lakes Park allows the reconstruction of the history of vegetation and the climate of an Alpine interglacial through fossil leaves and pollen and sediments which have formed a long archive of layers: 45 thousand years of history concerning plants and animals of the Alps at the beginning of the glaciations, the Oglio glacier and the climate of the entire planet documenting one of the longest stone “calendars” in the world.
The initiative, is aimed at adults and children over 14, even younger if interested in the topic.
Necessary: comfortable clothing, comfortable shoes for the dirt path and water.
