Sanctuary Madonna della Rosa

The sanctuary Madonna della Rosa in Monticelli Brusati is located in the most panoramic point of the hill, called “Monte della Madonna”. According to popular tradition, the temple was built in the place where the miraculous apparition of the Virgin to a thirsty peasant took place, to whom she pointed the source to quench his thirst; on the place where the Madonna appeared, a rose garden also flourished.

The architecture of the church recalls structures of the 15th century: a rectangular presbytery and a single room with a hut roof supported by transverse arches. The construction of the bell tower dates back to the 16th century, whereas the construction of the porch in front of the entrance and the chapel on the south side dates back to the 17th century.

Inside there are frescoes made from the 15th to the 18th century.
