Ditch the clichés…discover the hidden treasures of Lake Iseo!

Tired of the usual destinations? This autumn, change up your itinerary and come discover the hidden treasures of Lake Iseo.

October is the perfect time. The weather is still mild, and the summer crowds have thinned out. Take advantage of this month to quietly discover the beauty of the lake. There is no need to organise long holidays, a two-day short break may be enough to return home regenerated and with eyes full of beauty.

Take advantage of the appointment with the FAI autumn days, to visit the sites exceptionally open for the occasion.
A world of wonders awaits you!

Start your journey from Sale Marasino, visiting the Parish Church of San Zenone. Dedicated to the patron saint of fishermen, it is one of the most important examples of Rococo on Lake Iseo, a true temple of the beauty, elegance and light typical of eighteenth-century art.
And pause to admire Montisola from the top of the imposing staircase leading down to the lake from the churchyard.

Continue your visit to Pisogne, enjoying a pleasant and peaceful walk along the lakefront. Explore the pretty historic centre and don’t miss the Santa Maria della Neve church, also known as the ‘Sistine Chapel of the Poor’.

Tavernola Bergamasca is another hidden treasure!  Located on the western shore of the lake, it is known for its Romanesque parish church of San Pietro, which houses two mural paintings by Romanino dating back to the second decade of the 14th century.
Until 16 October, the initiative ‘In the heart of Caravaggio and Van Gogh’ is on stage.
An immersive experience among the masterpieces of the two artists, in the splendid setting of Villa Elena, exceptionally open for the occasion. After the cultural visit, treat yourself to a little sweetness! Enjoy a cup of tea and a slice of sour cherry cake, the typical local dessert made with shortcrust pastry and sour cherries.

Or again. Want to have a really special experience? On 14 and 15 October, when the FAI Autumn Days are on, in Predore you will have the unique opportunity to board the historic motorship “La Capitanio”, which sailed the waters of Lake Iseo in the early 1900s and for decades. You will be able to explore the entire vessel, from the engine rooms to the cabins, and conclude your visit with the sound of the ship’s bell.
