On Thursday 26 March 2026, at 8:30 PM, at the Civic Cultural Center on Via del Cantiere in the Lovere Tourist Port, a conference by Andrea Tottoli, Master’s Degree in Biology, will be held, entitled “Evoluzione: l’idea pericolosa di Darwin”.

In 1859, Charles Darwin overturned the then-dominant worldview with an idea as simple as it was radical: natural selection. Retracing the life and works of the English naturalist, we will analyze how his theory broke down the boundary between man and nature, sparking a revolution that was not only scientific, but profoundly philosophical. Despite criticism from those who struggle to accept its implications, that “dangerous” idea today finds its most extraordinary confirmation in molecular biology, remaining the indispensable key to interpreting the complexity of life.
