UPDATE OF 07/09/2024
The start time of the light show, which will be visible every day until Sunday 8 September, has been brought forward to 8:15 pm.
Wonder and new emotions in Lovere
Lovere, a star that shines among “The Most Beautiful Villages of Italy”, is preparing to become “The Village of Light” for the fifteenth time, paying homage to Italian television on the seventieth anniversary of the start of its first broadcast, with the projections that can be admired every day, from Saturday 22 June to Sunday 8 September, from 9.45pm to 12am.
Lovere celebrates the importance that this instrument has had and still has today in our culture and in the lives of each of us. All through a journey through the history of this great invention, the heritage of the entire nation, which revolutionized the world of communication and beyond.
The protagonist of the cultural event will be contemporary television with some of the most well-known faces on the television scene and a particular tribute to Raffaella Carrà and Mike Bongiorno. The project will include an evocative themed artistic-scenographical projection on over 10,000 m2 of buildings in the town, with works created by the master Marco Lodola, and a lively exhibition dedicated to TV set up at the Tadini Atelier in Lovere with works by the artist Sasha Torrisi.
“Lovere, the village of light… where TV becomes pop art” will offer an extraordinary visual and cultural experience. The historic buildings of the ancient village will come to life with plays of light, artistic lighting and art projections which will be transformed into luminous canvases reflecting in the waters of the lake.
For the third consecutive year the artistic part is created in collaboration with the light artist Marco Lodola. “I represented some faces that are now icons of the popular imagination, even current characters brought to the future of Rai itself. A beautiful, luminous and unforgettable experience. I hope this year our light and colors bring the positivity and peace we all need.” – says Lodola.
The Borgo della Luce continues until September 8th.
In the month of July, linked to this project, two very important initiatives will be held. From 24 July to 8 September, at the Atelier Tadini, an exhibition dedicated to the 70 years of TV will be set up, with the works of Sasha Torrisi, a musician who, in addition to being a guitarist, has always cultivated pictorial art, growing up alongside Marco Lodola. The exhibition will be a journey through his fondest memories, with pop-art pictorial works that tell the history of television, including the first event broadcast live, the moon landing, and references to icons such as Elvis Presley and Domenico Modugno .
Furthermore, on 27 July at the Basilica of Santa Maria in Valvendra “Una ballata per S. Chiara” will be staged, an event dedicated to the patron saint of communications, St. Clare, with the participation of Zelig actress Ippolita Baldini. Through the lightness and liveliness of her comic-theatrical style, Baldini will take those present on a fun and moving journey through the life of Clare of Assisi. This show is not only a portrait of the historical figure of Chiara, but also a reflection on her spiritual choices and her impact on history. The choice of Baldini as Chiara’s interpreter significantly underlines the link between TV and spirituality, uniting two different worlds in a unique and engaging experience.
