“Ciclo di Incontri”
Saturday 25 May 2024
On Saturday 25 May 2024 at 3.00 pm the Tadini Academy of Lovere is hosting a meeting dedicated to the reading of artworks created between the end of the thirteenth and nineteenth centuries.
The initiative will be held in the Sala degli Affreschi, with entrance from Piazza Garibaldi 5.
The meeting proposes a reading of works – created between the end of the thirteenth century and the nineteenth century – whose pictorial details can be considered an expression of patriarchal and racial reasons and feelings widespread in the culture of the time. The “moglie del fabbro” Hedroit, Phyllis riding Aristotle, a “V” gesture in works of Venetian mannerism, the Miracolo della Gamba Nera in the Florentine Renaissance, the orientalist painting of Cifrondi, monumental baroque works with slaves and prisons, painters of the Cinquecento, the Collettivo Beato Angelico and the colonialist invention of time are just some of the echoes from the past from which to start again to activate the seeds of a buried future in the present.
Event on free admission.
