“POPvision70: quel sogno ad occhi aperti uscito da una scatola magica”

On the occasion of “Lovere, il Borgo della luce…dove la TV si fa pop art”, from Wednesday 24 July to Sunday 8 September, at the Atelier of the Tadini Academy, “POPvision70” an exhibition dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Italian TV will be set up, with the works of Sasha Torrisi, a musician who, in addition to being a guitarist, has always also cultivated the pictorial art, growing alongside Marco Lodola. The exhibition will be a journey through his fondest memories, with pop-art pictorial works that tell the history of television, including the first event broadcast live, the moon landing, and references to icons such as Elvis Presley and Domenico Modugno .

This exhibition is the map of a journey that has guided us for 70 years. The artist Sasha Torrisi pays homage to Italian TV with his works of art dedicated to the most significant programs and characters. A story that starts from 3 January 1954 and develops through important events that made the history of television, such as the first advertisement that appeared in 1957 with Carosello, the first major global media event – the moon landing – and the portrait of iconic characters like Raf-faella Carrà and the Kessler twins, up to the cartoons that accompanied the artist’s childhood.

POPvision70 is not just an exhibition on TV, but a real experience that leads the visitor to relive those years and remember the most beloved characters and television programs. The exhibition unfolds among numerous fluorescent paintings, Nove ceramics, cult objects and TV stories of those years.

The exhibition will be open on free admission during the following hours:

from Tuesday 30 July to Sunday 8 September:
– from Tuesday to Thursday: from 17:00 to 20:00;
– Friday and Saturday: from 17:00 to 22:00;
– Sunday and Thursday 15 August: from 10:00 to 12:00 and from 17:00 to 22:00;

from 13 to 25 August the weekly openings from Tuesday to Thursday will be extended until 22:00.

Furthermore, by visiting the “POPvision70” exhibition it will be possible to access the Gallery with a reduced entrance fee (€10.00 instead of €14.00).
