The Sistema Bibliotecario Sud Ovest Bresciano’s Festival, which this year reaches its 19th edition, presents a rich programme dedicated to the pleasure of discovering – or rediscovering – books and their authors.

Special places, which serve as an ideal stage setting for the readings and the music that accompanies them.

The leitmotif of this edition will be “The shape of beauty”: beauty, in all its forms, is a gift to be preserved and cultivated.

Meetings with the author and readings with live music offering the public different ways of involvement.

On Wednesday 26th October, at 9.00 p.m. at Auditorium “Foro Boario” in Rovato, the meeting “IL VISCONTE DIMEZZATO” from the novel by Italo Calvino will take place, with readings by Luciano Bertoli accompanied on accordion by Davide Bonetti:

“The bizarre story of Viscount Medardo di Terralba who, shot in the chest by a cannonade, returns home divided into two halves: one bad, wicked, overbearing, but endowed with unexpected gifts of humour and realism, the other kind, altruistic, good, or rather ‘good’. An escapist fairy tale that deals with the universal theme of identity, of the light and shadow that coexist in each of us’.
