Tuesday 25 July 2023 - h. 21:00
The third edition of “Voci a Palazzo” is back in Sovere, the cultural review that opens the doors of the most renowned historic residences in the municipality of Sovere to the public, symbols of the great Italian artistic and architectural heritage.
The last appointment will take place on Tuesday 25 July at 21:00 at Palazzo Venturi, with the presentation of the book “Cieli in fiamme” by Mattia Insolia, in a dialogue with Stefano Malosso.
VENTURI PALACE
The Venturi palace is located in the Borgo di San Gregorio in Sovere and its history sees the succession of various families, from the Bonasolis who built it in 1616 to the last owner, the engineer Giovanni Venturi who bought it in 1887. Around the 18th century inside the building a ceramic factory was built by the Bottaini family in which vases and objects of fine workmanship and neoclassical taste were modeled. Some of these artifacts, similar to Capodimonte porcelain, are exhibited at the Tadini Academy in Lovere. From the Bottaini family the factory passed to the Picozzi family and, in 1873, to the Richard-Ginori family who then closed it in 1885. Having become the property of the Venturis, the building was renovated and enlarged. The main building is made up of three bodies arranged in a “U” which create a courtyard with a garden inside and has facades characterized by simple but elegant geometries of classical derivation. The central body has three levels in which a portico with arches and columns in classical style, windows decorated with triangular tympanums and an elegant closed loggia stand out. Inside, the halls are decorated with important frescoes, one of the most beautiful depicts “L’Aurora sul Carro”, a subject often represented in noble Lombard villas. In the building there are still particularly valuable furnishings such as the monumental fireplace in Sarnico stone and marble which bears the date 1616 and the coat of arms of the Bonasoli family. Since 1973, the palace and its garden have been listed by the Fine Arts as a national monument.
Free admission without reservation.
