The “Società Agricola Simone”, which patented the Sebino’s Saffron brand, produces saffron in pistils, in the Ai Bossolà locality in Clusane d’Iseo.
The Società Agricola does not use herbicides and chemical fertilizers but applies the “Green Manure” technique:the cultivation is rotated on two plots of land in order to leave one to rest for a year. Then, the hand harvest is made, in which the pistils are separated from the flowers to conclude with the drying, done at low temperature.
Used since ancient times, this noble spice has many beneficial effects on the body. It is in fact a source of vitamins and promotes digestion, reactivates blood circulation and lowers cholesterol values.
