Flour and Bakery Products
The corn flour called “Belgrano” is a De.Co. registered in the municipality of Castegnato, and it is the basis of an exquisite polenta prepared by many restaurants in the area of Brescia to accompany the spit, stews or roasts. This is maize belonging to the vitreous variety, whose round seeds are suitable for the production of high quality flours. Moreover, Belgrano flours are also excellent for the preparation of biscuits and fresh pasta.
In fact, among the products with the municipal denomination of Castegnato you can also find bakery products such as “Castegnelli“, rings with hazelnuts, shortbreads whipped with butter and, finally, the classic Brescia’s biscuit.
