The Sanctuary of Madonna della Neve welcomes pilgrims and visitors on the heights of Adro for five centuries, after the apparition of the Virgin to a young deaf-mute shepherd; from a letter sent to the guardian of the Sanctuary in 1772 (reported in an ancient text), we go back to the most significant testimony of the apparition.

A bishop’s decree granted an indulgence of 100 days for each visit to the Sanctuary; the text of the act (carved on the side niches, now covered by lime) did not directly mention the appearance, but gave importance and value to the small Oratory.
