Church of St. Maria in Favento
The Church of St. Maria in Favento is the oldest in Adro. Built around 1200 outside the town (a little more than a kilometer north-east of the village, where once passed the Roman consular road to the Valle Camonica), it has a gabled facade anticipated by a quadrangular porch on the north side.
Frescoes and decorations from the 15th and 16th centuries enrich the pronaos and the interior; among the different works, there are those dedicated to San Cristoforo (patron of pilgrims), the Madonna with child, the Annunciation, the Trinity, San Giorgio and the dragon (Byzantine taste) and a cross of the Carolingian era.
The church and picnic area can be reached on foot or by car, along the cobblestone road.
