Church of Santa Maria Assunta
The Church of Santa Maria Assunta, Collegiata Insigne and Parish Church of the Rovatesi, was built at the end of the 16th century to a design by architect Giulio Todeschini.
It was also built thanks to the work of Carlo Borromeo (patron saint of the city), who stayed in Rovato for a long time, on the occasion of his frequent visits to the parishes of Franciacorta.
In the 19th century, the Church underwent restoration work commissioned by the then Provost Rodolfo Angelini to the Rovato architect Rodolfo Vantini.
Inside, one can admire paintings by Palma il Giovane, Antonio Paglia, Giovan Battista Pittoni, Angelo Inganni and Guadagnini and a unique Art Nouveau chapel.
Works of art also include a wooden Christ by Andrea Fantoni and the nearby 16th century municipal tower, which serves as a bell tower.
