Ring route for expert hikers that vertically reaches the Corna Trentapassi from the village of Vello di Marone, with panoramic glimpses of Lake Iseo and Valle Camonica.

DE – Rundweg für erfahrene Wanderer, der von der Stadt Vello di Marone aus senkrecht zur Corna Trentapassi führt und einen Panoramablick auf den Iseosee und das Valle Camonica bietet.

The path / der Weg

The trail starts after (or before, depending on the origin) the short tunnel of Vello, where the trail marker CAI 263  is placed – Corna Trentapassi 2h 30 min EE. The path goes up among the olive trees and passes first a little shrine, where the wood begins, and then the Chiesetta della Madonnina. 

After passing the church, you arrive at a crossroads where, on a plant, two paths are indicated. The Vertical route is on the right. The path continues steeply through the woods and sometimes allows you to see the lake and its colors. The climb never loses the initial slope and becomes more and more panoramic. Between passages on rock and others on land, but always exposed and sometimes equipped with metal cables, the path reaches the top of the Corna Trentapassi, with its steel cross.

After enjoying one of the most beautiful viewpoints of Lake Iseo, you start the descent along the path that goes up from Zone. After passing on the left the cross of the anti-summit, go down to the intersection of paths at the beginning of the forest, where an arrow indicates on the right the descent to Vello. The path to follow is n. 265, alternating stretches in the woods with panoramic clearings on the lake and Monte Isola, which leads back to the starting point.

DE – Der Weg beginnt nach (oder davor, je nach Ursprung) dem kurzen Vello-Tunnel, wo sich das Wegweiser CAI 263 – Corna Trentapassi 2h 30 min EE befindet. Der Weg steigt zwischen Olivenbäumen an und kommt zunächst an einem Heiligtum vorbei, wo der Wald beginnt, und dann an der kleinen Kirche der Madonnina.

Nachdem man an der kleinen Kirche vorbeigekommen ist, gelanget man an eine Kreuzung, an der auf einer Karte zwei Wege eingezeichnet sind. Der vertikale Reiseplan ist der auf der rechten Seite. Der Weg führt steil in den Wald hinein und ermöglicht zeitweise den Blick auf den See und seine Farben. Der Anstieg verliert nie seine anfängliche Steigung und wird immer panoramareicher. Zwischen Durchgängen auf Felsen und anderen auf der Erde, aber immer ausgesetzt und zeitweise mit Metallseilen ausgestattet, erreicht der Weg den Gipfel der Corna Trentapassi, wo sich das imposante Stahlkreuz befindet.

Nachdem man einen der schönsten Aussichtspunkte des Iseosees genossen hat, beginnt man mit dem Abstieg auf dem Weg, der von Zone aus hinaufführt. Nachdem man das Gipfelkreuz auf der linken Seite passiert hat, steigt man zur Wegkreuzung am Anfang des Waldes ab, wo ein Pfeil den Abstieg nach Vello auf der rechten Seite anzeigt. Der Weg Nr. 265 führt abwechselnd durch den Wald und über Lichtungen mit Panoramablick über den See und den Monte Isola zurück zum Ausgangspunkt.

How to arrive and where to park / Anreise und Parkplätze

Follow the former coastal road SP 510 to Vello di Marone, or the SP 510 and exit in Vello.

The car park is located respectively after or before the short tunnel of San Rocco in Vello.

DE – Man folgt der Küstenstraße ex SP 510 bis nach Vello di Marone oder nimmt die SP 510 und fährt in Vello aus.

Parkplatz nach (oder davor, je nach Ursprung) dem kurzen unbeleuchteten Tunnel von Vello, S. Rocco.
