Museum of Contemporary Art “Remo Bianco in Franciacorta”
Montina and Villa Baiana mean not only fine wines, hospitality and catering of the highest level, but they are also synonymous with refined culture and sincere passion for art.
In 1998, Giancarlo Bozza, some art lovers and Lyda Bianchi (sister of the Milanese artist) founded the Remo Bianco Association, acquiring the works of the artist, an important and brilliant precursor of the main currents of the Italian twentieth century. Appreciated by Fontana, who will be present at his 3D work in 1953, Remo Bianco (Dergano 1922 – Milan 1988) was among the precursors of Noveau Realisme; in New York, he met Pollock, creator of Action Painting, and then Burri, an important Italian exponent of the Informal current.
Among his most representative works there are the Tableaux Dorès, some of which can be admired in the halls of Villa Baiana and Cantina Montina, permanent home of the works of Bianco dating back to other stages of its stylistic evolution.
On the walls of the rooms of the Estates, there are about ninety works, examples of nuclear, spatial, three-dimensional art, along with prints and collages.
A wide selection of masterpieces that tells the story of this eclectic Milanese artist.
This exhibition is flanked by a spectacular art gallery, located at the entrance of the winery, which hosts important exhibitions and temporary exhibitions and which serves as a prelude (in the sign of art) to the visit of the winery.
With the logo “Montina per la cultura”, the company is particularly committed to artistic and cultural initiatives, promotes meetings and conferences and press publications, confirming a reality aimed at actively experimenting with that intense union between wine, art, culture and good living, now become one of the characteristic elements of a territory so unique, which is Franciacorta.
The museum can be visited by appointment at the end of the guided tour of the winery.
