The path/Der Weg

Once you reach Santa Maria del Giogo, a wonderful terrace on the lake, follow the white/blue 3V signs which in a few minutes lead to the Sanctuary of Santa Maria del Giogo. The route continues behind the church downhill and continues straight on overlooking the Val Trompia. The easy and well marked path leads in 30 minutes to one of the most panoramic points of the lake “I Colmi” overlooking Monte Isola, Valle Camonica and all the surrounding mountains. The itinerary continues until you reach the paved road near the Trattoria I Colmi (now closed). Here, cross the road and follow the signs for “Punta dell’orto”. The path with a view of the valley below enters the woods. Follow the track up to a clearing with a small pool of water. Go beyond the puddle and follow the path to the left, until you catch a glimpse of the peak with the Iseo CAI cross and the breathtaking view of the lake.

DE – Sobald Sie Santa Maria del Giogo, eine wunderschöne Terrasse am See, erreicht haben, folgen Sie den weiß/blauen 3V-Schildern, die in wenigen Minuten zur Wallfahrtskirche Santa Maria del Giogo führen. Die Route führt hinter der Kirche bergab und weiter geradeaus mit Blick auf das Val Trompia. Der einfache und gut markierte Weg führt in 30 Minuten zu einem der schönsten Aussichtspunkte des Sees “I Colmi” mit Blick auf den Monte Isola, das Valle Camonica und alle umliegenden Berge. Die Route geht weiter, bis Sie die asphaltierte Straße in der Nähe der Trattoria I Colmi (jetzt geschlossen) erreichen. Hier überqueren Sie die Straße und folgen die Beschilderung „Punta dell’orto“. Der Weg mit Blick auf das darunter liegende Tal tritt in den Wald ein. Folgen Sie dem Weg bis zu einer Lichtung mit einem kleinen Wasserbecken. Gehen Sie über die Pfütze hinaus und folgen Sie dem Weg nach links, bis Sie den Gipfel mit dem Iseo CAI-Kreuz und dem atemberaubenden Blick auf den See erblicken.

Follow the directions for Lake Iseo. From the centre of Sulzano or from the SP 510 – Sulzano exit, follow the signs to Santa Maria del Giogo, uphill.
