The Magnolini Hut, mandatory point of passage to ascend to Monte Alto, can be reached along a path that in the beginning goes up the Valle di Supine and then climbs along the southwest slopes of the mountain, between cheese huts and views of Lake Iseo.

DE –Die Magnolini-Hütte, ein obligatorischer Durchgangspunkt für die Besteigung des Monte Alto, kann über einen Weg erreicht werden, der zunächst das Valle di Supine hinaufführt und dann entlang der Südwesthänge des Bergreliefs zwischen Milchhöfen und Ausblicken auf den Iseosee ansteigt.

The trail / der Weg

From Cascina Ai Ciar take a mule track on the right, following the path 558. The road climbs by making a first hairpin turn to the left and then a wider one to the right, quickly reaching a pasture with several mountain cottages. At the top of the road, turn right and continue uphill to a left turn.

Following the signs, leave the road and continue on a rough path on the right, until the first huts of Prà di Casera. Continue, reaching the upper part of the pasture, with a wonderful view of Lake Iseo. Following a good mule track with a fence, you go along the pine forest and, crossing a large pasture, you climb in altitude on the meadow below Monte Alto, where there is a large farmhouse. Continuing up a slight slope, you reach the Magnolini Hut, owned by the CAI Section of Lovere.

For those who wish for it, from Rifugio Magnolini it is possible to reach the top of Monte Alto in 15 minutes.

DE – Von Cascina Ai Ciar nimmt man rechts einen Saumpfad und folgt dem Wegweiser 558. Die Straße führt bergauf, macht eine erste Haarnadelkurve auf der linken Seite und dann eine breitere auf der rechten Seite und erreicht schnell eine Alm mit mehreren Hütten. Man biegt am höchsten Punkt rechts ab und steigt weiter an, bis man eine Linkskurve erreicht.

Der Beschilderung folgend verlässt man die Straße und geht rechts auf einem holprigen Weg weiter bis zu den ersten Hütten von Prà di Casera. Man geht weiter und erreicht den oberen Teil der Alm, mit einem herrlichen Blick auf den Iseosee. Auf einem guten Saumpfad mit Zaun geht es am Pinienwald entlang und über eine große Weide steigt man auf die Wiese unterhalb von Monte Alto, wo sich ein großes Bauernhaus befindet. Wenn man leicht bergauf am Hang entlang geht, gelangt man zur Hütte Magnolini, die der Sektion Lovere CAI gehört.

Wer möchte, kann von der Magnolini-Hütte aus in 15 Minuten den Gipfel des Monte Alto erreichen.

How to arrive and where to park / Anreise und Parkplätze

Follow the directions for lake Iseo and then for Costa Volpino.

From the center of Costa Volpino it is necessary to follow the signs for Ceratello, which can be reached along a steep road with hairpin bends. From the main square of Ceratello follow the wide road that leads to the restaurant of Cascina Ciar, where you can park.
