Balota del Coren is a rocky pinnacle on which stands the panoramic Croce di Iseo. Despite its low altitude (611 m) is one of the most popular balconies of Lake Iseo.

DE – Balota del Coren ist ein Felsgipfel, auf dem sich das Panorama-Croce di Iseo erhebt. Trotz seiner geringen Höhe (611 m) ist er einer der beliebtesten Balkone des Iseosees.

The trail / der Weg

The path goes up along the II cross street of Via Roma, where the CAI 243 and 245 paths are signposted. After a first paved stretch, the road becomes a dirt road and reaches in 40 minutes the Church of the Madonna del Corno (Provaglio d’Iseo, 427 m), whose terrace is a fabulous viewpoint on the Riserva Naturale delle Torbiere and on the Franciacorta wine region. Near the church take CAI path 290, which climbs steeply and unabated to the summit of Monte Cognolo (673 m), where there is a wooden table with benches.

At this point, the descent begins. Returning on your own steps, you arrive at the crossroads with path 244, which you take, arriving at the Balota del Coren. After a short stop, continue to descend along path 244, until this crosses path 245 (“Senterù”), which leads back to the starting point.

DE – Der Weg steigt entlang der Kreuzung II der Via Roma an, wo sich die Wegweiser für die CAI-Wege 243 und 245 befinden. Nach einem anfänglichen Asphaltstück wird die Straße zu einem unbefestigten Weg und in 40 Minuten erreicht man die Kirche Madonna del Corno (Provaglio d’Iseo, 427 m), dessen Terrasse einen herrlichen Aussichtspunkt über das Naturschutzgebiet Torbiere und Franciacorta bietet. In der Nähe der Kirche nimmt man den Weg CAI 290, der steil und ohne Pause zum Gipfel des Monte Cognolo (673 m) hinaufführt, wo sich ein Holztisch mit Bänken befindet.

An diesem Punkt beginnt der Abstieg. Wenn man seine Schritte zurückverfolgt, erreicht man die Kreuzung mit dem Weg 244, den man nimmt und so nach Balota del Coren gelangt. Nach einer kurzen Pause geht es weiter bergab auf dem Weg 244, bis dieser den Weg 245 („Senterù“) kreuzt, den zurück zum Ausgangspunkt führt.

How to arrive and where to park / Anreise und Parkplätze

Trenord line Brescia – Iseo – Edolo. From Iseo station it is necessary to walk about 400 meters to get to the Eni station in Via Roma.

By car, follow the directions for Lake Iseo and then Iseo, until you reach Via Roma.
For those arriving from the A4 motorway, the recommended exit is Rovato. Then take the SP XI up to Iseo.

DE – Trenord-Linie Brescia – Iseo – Edolo. Vom Bahnhof Iseo ist es notwendig, etwa 400 Meter zu Fuß zu gehen, um zur Eni-Tankstelle in der Via Roma zu gelangen.

Mit dem Auto, folgt man der Beschilderung zum Iseosee und dann zu Iseo, bis man die Via Roma erreicht.
Für diejenigen, die von der Autobahn A4 anreisen, ist die empfohlene Ausfahrt Rovato. Man nimmt dann den SP XI bis nach Iseo.
