Wonderful circular route (Green Ring) that from the center of Provaglio d’Iseo leads to the Church Madonna del Corno, to the top of the Balota del Coren and to Monte Cognolo, and then returns to the historic centre of Provaglio d’Iseo.

The trail / der Weg

After parking the car, proceed towards the beginning of via Castello, in Provaglio d’Iseo, where after a few meters it is necessary to take a detour on the left. This will allow you to enter the woods up to the war memorial and continue to the Church Madonna del Corno, also known as “Madonnina di Provaglio”.

After admiring the view of the Torbiere Nature Reserve (peat bogs), continue on route 290 (called “Proai-Golem”) up to the Balota del Coren, which dominates the lake. From there, walk towards the top of Monte Cognolo up to a crossroads where you take the descent on the right, that continues to the Locality Pian delle Viti. The route then ends by reconnecting to via Castello and turning towards the parish church in order to reach the car.

DE – Nachdem man das Auto verlassen hat, geht man weiter zum Eingang der Via Castello, in Provaglio d’Iseo, wo man nach wenigen Metern links abzweigt, um in den Wald bis zum Kriegerdenkmal und dann weiter zur Kirche Madonna del Corno zu gelangen, auch bekannt als “Madonnina di Provaglio”.

Nachdem man die Aussicht auf das Naturschutzgebiet Torbiere bewundert hat, läuft man weiter auf der Route 290 (“Proai-Golem” benannt) nach Balota del Coren, das den See dominiert. Von hier aus wandert man in Richtung des Gipfels des Monte Cognolo bis zu einer Kreuzung, wo man den Abstieg rechts wählt, der in Località Pian delle Viti führt. Die Route endet dann mit einer erneuten Verbindung zur Via Castello und einer Abzweigung zur Pfarrkiche, um das Auto zu erreichen.

Follow the signs towards Iseo and then the Provincial Road SP XI in order to reach the centre of Provaglio d’Iseo.
