Circular itinerary to discover Riva di Solto, a village between the lake and the hills, with passages between meadows and woods that offer priceless moments of quiet and exciting views, among which there are also the “Bogn” gorge and its beautiful bay.

DE – Rundtour zur Entdeckung von Riva di Solto, dessen Stadt sich zwischen See und Hügeln erstreckt, mit Passagen zwischen Wiesen und Wäldern, die unbezahlbare Momente der Ruhe und aufregende Ausblicke bieten, darunter die Bogn-Schlucht und ihre wunderschöne Bucht.

The trail / der Weg

In Riva di Solto, 200 meters from the “Trentapassi” campsite, along the Provincial Road 77, turn left onto the old mule track (CAI path 567) which leads to Solto Collina. After about 15 minutes of walking, in Località Zangolo, turn right, thus ignoring the signs indicating the path to the Big Bench.

At the end of the climb, turn right again into via Dosso (there is a wooden sign for the “Sentiero Natura del Sebino” / CAI path 565) and you arrive in front of the Church of Santi Rocco e Antonio Abate, where you take the via Sconico, on the right. After 100 meters turn left and you will soon arrive at a pedestrian crossing on the SP 77. Follow the signs for the “Sentiero Naturalistico del Sebino”, direction Lovere. The route alternates paved sections with cobbled and grassy paths and allows to leave the town of Solto Collina behind you. On the right, the view of Lake Iseo with Monte Isola and the Corna Trentapassi delights the gaze.

After a kilometer and a half, at the intersection with the paved road (via Apostoli), turn right downhill, following two hairpin bends until the entrance, on the left, of the “Sentiero alla scoperta del Bogn”. Walk along the gorge and continue down the stepped path which ends at the Riva di Solto’s tunnel.

Paying particular attention, cross the provincial road. On the opposite side, by turning left it is possible to reach the “Bogn” bay in a few minutes, with the suggestive overhanging rocks that plunge into the waters of the lake; turning right, you can follow the romantic lakeside of Riva di Solto, up to the starting point.

DE – In Riva di Solto, 200 Meter vom Campingplatz „Trentapassi“ entfernt, biegt man entlang der Provinzstraße 77 links auf den alten Saumpfad (CAI-Weg 567) ab, der nach Solto Collina führt. Man biegt nach etwa 15 Minuten in der Località Zangolo rechts ab und ignoriert dabei die Schilder, die den Weg zur Big Bench anzeigen.

Am Ende des Anstiegs biegt man erneut rechts in die Via Dosso ein (es gibt ein Holzschild mit der Aufschrift „Sentiero Natura del Sebino“ / CAI-Weg 565) und kommt vor der Kirche Santi Rocco e Antonio Abate an, wo man weitergeht rechts, über Via Sconico. Nach 100 Metern biegt man links ab und erreicht bald einen Fußgängerüberweg auf der SP 77. Man folgt der Beschilderung zum „Sentiero Naturalistico del Sebino“ in Richtung Lovere. Auf der Route wechseln sich Abschnitte mit gepflasterten und grasbewachsenen Wegen ab und man kann die Stadt Solto Collina hinter sich lassen. Rechts kann man einen wunderschönen Blick auf den Iseosee mit Monte Isola und der Corna Trentapassi genießen. 

Nach anderthalb Kilometern, an der Kreuzung mit der Asphaltstraße (Via Apostoli), biegt man rechts bergab ab und folgt zwei Haarnadelkurven bis zum Eingang auf der linken Seite des „Sentiero alla scoperta del Bogn“. Man geht weiter entlang der Schlucht und dann über den Stufenweg hinunter, der am Tunnel Riva di Solto endet.

Man überquert die Provinzstraße mit besonderer Aufmerksamkeit. Auf der gegenüberliegenden Seite kann man, wenn man nach links abbiegt, in wenigen Minuten die Bucht der Bogn-Schlucht mit ihren eindrucksvollen überhängenden Felsen erreichen; Rechts abbiegend folgt man jedoch dem romantischen Seeufer von Riva di Solto bis zum Ausgangspunkt.

How to arrive and where to park / Anreise und Parkplätze

Follow the coastal road SS469 up to Riva di Solto.

Alternatively, it is possible to take the SS42 of Val Cavallina up to Piangaiano and then follow the signs for Solto Collina / Riva di Solto along the SP77.

Free parking spaces are present near the “Trentapassi” campsite, in via Papa Giovanni XXIII.

DE – Man folgt der Küstenstraße SS469 bis nach Riva di Solto.

Alternativ ist es möglich, die SS42 des Val Cavallina bis nach Piangaiano zu nehmen und dann der Beschilderung nach Solto Collina / Riva di Solto entlang der SP77 zu folgen.

Es gibt kostenlose Parkplätze in der Nähe des Campingplatzes „Trentapassi“, in der Via Papa Giovanni XXIII.
