Itinerary that from Portole di Sale Marasino leads to Punta Almana passing through the “Filippo Benedetti” equipped path.

The path/Der Weg

From Portole take the mule track on the left that leads to Forcella di Sale. The road, first cobbled and then concrete, becomes very steep and the expected time to reach the Forcella is about an hour. Once you reach the Forcella di Sale, do not continue straight along the usual circular route, but take the path on the right, crossing the wooden gate of a private property, that goes up into the meadow, marked by white-blue trail signs. The path is very steep, rocky and exposed at times, and equipped in some places with metal cables. At the top of Punta Cabrera, proceed along the ridge keeping the lake on the right until reaching an observation point with a monocle, useful to identify the peaks that surround Lake Iseo up to the Orobie. The summit cross is not far away and can be reached in a few minutes.
After a brief stop to admire the view and take a breath, let’s start with the descent, always on the mountain ridge and always with the lake on your right. The path is very steep and rocky up to the Croce di Pezzolo, and after few  a sharp bend takes us onto a gently sloping path into the woods. Beyond the woods you get into a large meadow and, following the path you reach the Trattoria Pastina, in the Pezzolo area. Continue straight along a pastoral road, which you abandon almost immediately by going down to the left, following the signs for the path to Portole. In about half an hour you reach the starting point.

DE – Zu Fuß nehmen Sie links den Saumpfad, der zur Forcella di Sale führt. Die Straße, zunächst gepflastert und dann betoniert, wird fast sofort sehr steil und man braucht eine Stunde um die Forcella zu erreichen. Sobald Sie die Forcella di Sale erreicht haben, gehen Sie nicht geradeaus auf dem üblichen Rundweg weiter, sondern nehmen den Weg rechts und überqueren das Holztor eines Privatgrundstücks, das auf die Wiese führt und mit weiß-blauen Wegweisern markiert ist. Der Weg ist teilweise sehr steil, steinig und ausgesetzt und manchmal auch mit Metallseilen ausgestattet. Sobald Sie den Gipfel von Punta Cabrera erreicht haben, gehen Sie den Bergrücken entlang und halten den See auf der rechten Seite, bis Sie einen Beobachtungspunkt  mit einem Monokel erreichen. Das Gipfelkreuz ist nicht weit entfernt und in wenigen Minuten erreichbar.
Nach einem kurzen Stopp, um die Aussicht zu genießen und Luft zu schnappen, beginnt der Abstieg, immer auf dem Kamm und immer mit dem See zu unserer Rechten. Auch hier ist der Weg sehr steil und steinig bis zum Croce di Pezzolo, von wo aus wir nach wenigen Metern in einer scharfen Kurve auf einen leicht abfallenden Weg in den Wald gelangen. Hinter dem Wald gelangt man auf eine große Wiese und dem Weg folgend erreicht man die Trattoria Pastina im Ortsteil Pezzolo. Gehen Sie geradeaus auf einer Weidestraße weiter, die Sie fast sofort verlassen, indem Sie nach links absteigen und den Schildern zum Weg nach Portole folgen. In etwa einer halben Stunde erreichen Sie den Ausgangspunkt.

Follow the direction to Lake Iseo and the the coastal road to Sale Marasino. Once you get in the centre continue uphill in direction of Portole. Parking space near the Trattoria Portole.
