The trail / der Weg

Walk along via Monte Clemo and turn right into via Clisano. After passing some houses, go on walking on a dirt track that climbs with a regular slope, which is a little awkward due to the stony bottom, until you reach – after about 40 minutes – the church of S. Defendente, located at 674 meters above sea level on Monte Greno.

After leaving the church, take a dirt track on the right, indicated by a sign as “Sentiero natura del Sebino”. After about 25 minutes you will arrive at the small church of S. Rocco, where you will see via Cerrete, not far from the starting point.

DE – Man geht über via Monte Clemo weiter und biegt rechts in via Clisano ab. Nachdem man einige Häuser passiert hat, geht man auf einer unbefestigten Straße, die regelmäßig ansteigt, aber aufgrund des steinigen Bodens etwas unangenehm ist, bis man nach etwa 40 Minuten die Kirche S. Defendente erreicht, die sich auf 674 Metern über dem Meeresspiegel befindet auf dem Monte Greno.

Für die Rückkehr nimmt man nach dem Verlassen der Kirche rechts einen Feldweg, dessen Boden in gutem Zustand ist und der durch ein Schild mit der Aufschrift „Sentiero natura del Sebino“ gekennzeichnet ist. Nach ca. 25 Minuten erreicht man die kleine Kirche S. Rocco, wo man via Cerrete bis zum Ausgangspunkt wieder nimmt.

How to arrive and where to park / Anreise und Parkplätze

For those arriving from Lake Iseo, follow the SP 469 road to Riva di Solto and Solto Collina until you reach the town of Esmate.

For those arriving from Bergamo, take the SS 42 road up to Piangaiano and then the SP 77 up to Solto Collina and then Esmate.

After crossing the small village of Esmate, park your car/motorbike near the football pitch in via Monte Clemo or near the cemetery in via Cerrete.

DE – Wenn man vom Iseosee anreist, muss man der SP 469 nach Riva di Solto und Solto Collina folgen, bis man das Dorf Esmate erreicht.

Wenn man aus Bergamo kommt, nimmt man die SS 42 bis Piangaiano und dann die SP 77 bis Solto Collina und dann Esmate.

Kostenloser Parkplatz in via Cerrete, in der Nähe vom Friedhof.

Near the church there is a picnic area as well as benches from which you can enjoy breathtaking views from Valcamonica and Adamello to upper Lake Iseo, from the Corna dei Trentapassi to Monte Isola and the lower lake.

DE – In der Nähe der Kirche gibt es einen Bereich für Picknicks sowie Bänke, aus denen man einen atemberaubenden Blick von Valcamonica mit dem Adamello bis zum oberen Iseosee, von der Corna dei Trentapassi bis zum Monte Isola und dem unteren Teil des Sees genießen kann.
