Rogno “Big Bench” is a giant blue bench, 2 meters high, 3.5 wide and 3 quintals heavy, located in a strategical point in Spiazzi di Rogno that offers a wonderful view of Lake Iseo and the Camonica Valley. It is the first giant bench to be placed in this area as part of the “Big Bench Community Project” (BBCP), a project by the American artist/designer Chris Bangle. Tinier benches will be placed along the bike path to remind everyone where it is possible to see the original giant bench.

The activities of the BBCP – of an exclusive non-profit nature – include both technical support to those who want to build a new official Big Bench, and collaboration with local craftsmanship to create products inspired by them, which can make a small contribution to the local economy and tourism, in the sign of the positive spirit that the Big Benches bring to this area. Part of the proceeds of each sale, will be devolved by the BBCP to the towns involved and will be destined to support the local community.

DE – Die “Big Bench” von Rogno ist eine riesige blaue Bank und befindet sich in Spiazzi di Rogno, an einem strategischen Punkt, der einen herrlichen Blick auf den Iseosee und das Camonica-Tal bietet. Es ist die erste riesige Bank, die im Rahmen des “Big Bench Community Project” (BBCP), einem Projekt des amerikanischen Künstlers / Designers Chris Bangle, in diesem Bereich platziert wurde.

Die Aktivitäten des Big Bench Community Project (BBCP) – ausschließlich gemeinnütziger Natur – umfassen sowohl technische Unterstützung für diejenigen, die eine neue offizielle Big Bench bauen möchten, als auch die Zusammenarbeit mit lokaler Handwerkskunst, um von ihnen inspirierte Produkte zu entwickeln, im Zeichen des positiven Geistes, den die Big Benches in ein bestimmtes Gebiet bringen. Ein Teil des Erlöses jedes Verkaufs wird von BBCP an die beteiligten Städte weitergeleitet und soll die lokale Gemeinschaft unterstützen.

The trail / der Weg

Starting from the cemetery of Piazze, the entrance to the path that leads to the bench is right in front of the cemetery. The path is paved and after about 10 minutes of ascent on the right one will see a picnic area where there is the giant blue bench.

DE – Vor dem Friedhof in Piazze befindet sich der Eingang zum Weg zur Bank. Der Weg ist asphaltiert und nach ca. 10 Minuten Aufstieg auf der rechten Seite sieht man einen Picknickplatz, auf dem sich die riesige blaue Bank befindet.
