Vigolo’s “Big Bench” is a giant turquoise and red bench. The color choice has no meaning but points to originality.
The bench is located in a privileged position that allows you to enjoy an enchanting view: on one side the historic center of the town, dating back to the late Middle Ages, with Lake Iseo as a backdrop; on the other, the green valley that culminates in Monte Bronzone and its iconic bell.

The activities of the “Big Bench Community Project” (BBCP) – of an exclusive non-profit nature – provide both technical support to those who want to build a new official Big Bench, and collaboration with the excellence of local craftsmanship to create products inspired by them, which can give a little contribution to the local economy and tourism, in the sign of the positive spirit that the Large Benches bring to this area. A part of the proceeds of each sale, such as donations made by those who build a new bench, is donated to the municipalities involved and destined to support local communities.

“We hope to see many more Large Benches built to make us feel like children again when we climb them, and that new visitors come to this area to enjoy the spectacular view of the landscape” – Chris Bangle.

DE – Die „Big Bench“ in Vigolo ist eine riesige türkis-rote Bank. Die Farbwahl hat keine Bedeutung, sondern zielt auf Originalität ab. Die Bank befindet sich in einer privilegierten Position, die Ihnen einen bezaubernden Ausblick ermöglicht: auf der einen Seite das historische Zentrum der Stadt aus dem Spätmittelalter mit dem Iseosee als Hintergrund; auf der anderen Seite das grüne Tal, das im Monte Bronzone und seiner ikonischen Glocke gipfelt.

The path/Der Weg

The Big Bench can be reached with a pleasant walk, leaving the car in the parking lots of Piazza Fontane Vecchie and following the ancient mule track surrounded by nature.

DE – Die Große Bank kann mit einem angenehmen Spaziergang erreicht werden, indem man das Auto auf den Parkplätzen an der Piazza Fontane Vecchie abstellt und dem alten Saumpfad inmitten der Natur folgt. Die Route ist mit entsprechenden Schildern gekennzeichnet.

How to arrive and where to park/Anreise und Parkplatz

Follow the signs for Lake Iseo and take the SP 469 to Tavernola Bergamasca. From the town center follow the signs for Vigolo.
Parking in Piazza Fontane Vecchie.

DE – Folgen Sie der Beschilderung zum Iseosee und nehmen Sie die SP 469 nach Tavernola Bergamasca. Vom Stadtzentrum aus folgen Sie der Beschilderung nach Vigolo. Parkplatz auf Piazza Fontane Vecchie.

The passport of the Giant Benches is sold at the Soc. Coop. Agricola Monti e Laghi.
It is possible to collect the stamps of each bench in your BBCP passport; each stamp bears the logo of the Giant Benches and the name of the country in which they are located.
