Lovere is the enchanting starting point of this pleasant MTB excursion.

After parking in piazzale Bonomelli, continue along via D. Celeri. A short path allows you to reach the locality Davine where, near a votive chapel, the crossroads leading to the locality of Carassone branches off. The road, very characteristic and surrounded by vegetation, leads to the Sanctuary of San Giovanni, towards which it is possible to make a detour to enjoy a suggestive view over the entire Lake Iseo, Val Cavallina, Valle Camonica up to the offshoots of the Adamello. The itinerary continues towards Bossico, a delightful holiday centre that represents a real natural balcony on Lake Iseo. When you reach the paved road, turn right and continue to the junction with the Santella “Madonnina degli Steegn”. Then, take the downhill road and keep left after about 50 meters. After crossing the meadows with some farmhouses and beautiful chestnut trees, you arrive at the historic Villa Pincio. After a short initial climb, the road becomes easy and continues for about 1 km on cobbled pavement and then turns into a path that, through the woods, leads to Ceratello, a hamlet of Costa Volpino. After crossing the historic centre, follow the provincial road that descends towards Lovere, meeting the hamlets Flaccanico, Qualino, Branico and Corti, while admiring panoramic views of incredible beauty. At Corti’s cemetery, turn right towards Lovere and bike along via Aria Libera and Gobetti until you reach the fifteenth-century Basilica of Santa Maria in Valvendra. Continuing straight along via Martinoli, you arrive at the starting point.

DE – Das Dorf Lovere ist der bezaubernde Ausgangspunkt dieses angenehmen MTB-Ausflugs.

Nachdem man auf der Piazzale Bonomelli geparkt hat, folgt man Via D. Celeri. Ein kurzer Weg führt zur Ortschaft Davine, wo bei einer Votivkapelle die Kreuzung zur Ortschaft Carassone abzweigt. Die sehr charakteristische und von Vegetation umgebene Straße führt zur Wallfahrtskirche San Giovanni, von der aus man einen Abstecher machen kann, um einen eindrucksvollen Blick über den gesamten Iseosee, das Val Cavallina, das Valle Camonica bis zu den Ausläufern der Adamello von zu genießen. Die Route führt weiter in Richtung Bossico, einem reizvollen Ferienzentrum, das einen echten natürlichen Balkon am Iseosee darstellt. Wenn man die asphaltierte Straße erreicht, biegt man rechts ab und fährt bis zur Abzweigung mit der Santella „Madonnina degli Steegn“. Man nimmt dann die Straße bergab und haltet sich nach ca. 50 Metern links. Nachdem man die Wiesen mit einigen Bauernhäusern und schönen Kastanienbäumen überquert hat, erreicht man die historische Villa Pincio. Nach einem kurzen Anstieg wird die Straße leicht und führt etwa 1 km auf Kopfsteinpflaster und dann in einen Pfad, der durch den Wald nach Ceratello, einem Weiler der Costa Volpino, führt. Nachdem man das historische Zentrum durchquert habt, folgt man der Provinzstraße, die nach Lovere führt, und trifft auf die Weiler Flaccanico, Qualino, Branico und Corti. Am Friedhof von Corti biegt man rechts in Richtung Lovere ab und fährt die Via Aria Libera und Gobetti entlang, bis man die Basilika Santa Maria in Valvendra aus dem 15. Jahrhundert erreicht. Weiter geradeaus über die Via Martinoli gelangt man zum Ausgangspunkt.

How to arrive and where to park / Anreise und Parkplätze

Follow the directions for Lake Iseo and then for Lovere.

For those arriving from Bergamo, it is necessary to take the SS 42, while for those arriving from Brescia it is possible to follow the SP 510 up to Iseo and then take the coastal road that leads to Lovere through the villages that overlook the Eastern coast of Lake Iseo.

DE – Man muss der Beschilderung zum Iseosee und dann nach Lovere folgen.

Für diejenigen, die aus Bergamo anreisen, ist es notwendig, die SS 42 zu nehmen, während für diejenigen, die aus Brescia anreisen, es möglich ist, der SP 510 bis nach Iseo zu folgen und dann die Küstenstraße zu nehmen, die durch die verschiedenen Dörfer mit Blick auf die Ostküste des Iseosess nach Lovere führt.
